How to Clean Your Air Fryer: Step-by-Step Guide
Welcome to today's blog! I'm excited to show you the best way to clean your air fryer. I'll be demonstrating my cleaning process using the Ninja Dual Zone Air Fryer, but these tips can be applied to any air fryer model.
Before You Begin
Earlier, I cooked some bacon, and now my air fryer drawer is greasy. I'll show you how to get it sparkling clean quickly. If you're looking for a thorough way to clean your air fryer, keep watching!
What You'll Need
- Soda Crystals: Affordable and available in most supermarkets like Home Bargains and B&M.
- Washing Up Liquid: I’m using Fairy.
- Dishmatic Sponge: Ensure it has a non-scratch scourer, like the white one.
- Dishcloth
- Liquid Soda Crystals: Optional, for extra greasy air fryers.
Step-by-Step Cleaning Process
Heat Water: Run your tap until the water is very hot. Hot water is essential for cleaning greasy surfaces.
Prepare Soda Crystals: Place a scoop (approximately 10-15 grams) of soda crystals in the air fryer drawer. Adjust the amount based on the grease level.
Create Soapy Water: Fill a bowl with hot water and add your washing up liquid. Pour half a scoop of soda crystals into the hot water and mix.
Soak the Drawer: Let the soda crystals and hot water sit in the air fryer drawer for about 5 minutes. This helps lift the grease.
Scrub with Dishmatic: Use the Dishmatic sponge filled with washing up liquid or liquid soda crystals to scrub the drawer. Focus on areas with stubborn grease.
Rinse and Repeat: Pour the dirty water down the sink. Rinse the drawer and sponge with clean water. If necessary, repeat the scrubbing process.
Final Rinse: Run more hot water over the drawer to remove any remaining residue.
Air Dry: Leave the drawer and crisper tray to air dry. Wipe the air fryer interior with a damp cloth if needed.
Results
After cleaning, your air fryer drawer should be spotless and grease-free. Soda crystals are incredibly effective at removing grease and dirt, making this method foolproof.
