Air Fryer All-Butter Croissants Review: A Quick and Delicious Breakfast
Today is Sunday, August 7th, and I'm excited to try out these all-butter croissants from Aldi. Priced at around £1.50-£1.60 for a pack of eight, that makes each croissant about 20p. Typically, they take 20 minutes in a conventional oven from frozen, but today, I'm going to see how they fare in the air fryer.
Preparing the Croissants
I'll be using my air fryer and a silicone liner to prevent sticking and mess. I plan to cook three croissants at a time, though the air fryer could likely fit four. I'll skip preheating the air fryer and set the timer for 20 minutes, checking them at the 15-minute mark to ensure they don’t overcook.
Cooking in the Air Fryer
After 13 minutes, I checked the croissants, and they were almost done—quicker than the 18-20 minutes recommended for a fan oven. Without preheating, the air fryer managed to cook them perfectly in about 12-13 minutes. The croissants looked fantastic, and I’m pleased with how they turned out for just 20p each.
Taste Test
I paired one croissant with cheese and another with raspberry jam. These croissants are soft, crumbly, and a bit warm, making them perfect for a quick breakfast. A savory option with ham and cheese would also be delightful, though today, I only had cheese on hand.
Final Thoughts
The air fryer did a great job cooking these croissants quickly and evenly. They make a wonderful breakfast option, and at just 20p each, they are quite affordable. Whether you prefer them sweet or savory, these croissants are sure to please.
